After more than ten years, the exhibition Cold Front from the Balkans is another effort at staging a review of art from the Balkan region. The title of the exhibition originates from a saying that was once used to forecast the arrival of winter in Istanbul since the cold winds from the Balkan Mountains are the first harbinger that the new season is coming. Subsequently, due to the turbulent political and social events in the Balkan peninsula, which led to historical and political changes of great proportion, including wars, this saying became a phrase announcing the occurrence of (social) change. The exhibition will feature artists from ten Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, and Serbia.
