LPE: 19 December, 2009 Talk, Screenings, Book Launch and Discussion | Public-Art Projects in the Ex-communist Stadium and the legacy of post-communist architecture by Joanna Warsza / Laura Palmer Foundation, Warsaw (Poland) | The event took place in the Macedonian Center for Photography, Skopje (Multimedia centre “Mala stanica”) at 7 p.m. | The 10-th Anniversary Stadium in Warsaw was built in 1955 from the rubble of a war-ruined Warsaw. It was to preserve Communism’s good name for forty years, by the mid-’80s, it fell into ruin, becoming a post-Communist phantom. It was ‘revived’ by Vietnamese intelligentsia-cum-vendors and Russian traders, pioneers of capitalism. An open-air market called Jarmark Europa became the only multicultural site in the city, a storehouse of biographies, a major tourist attraction, a primeval forest, a realm of precarity and discount shopping, or a work camp for botanists. more… |

THINK! curated by Yane Calovski and consisted of promotion of 3 publications, a public discussion and a group exhibition Delocalization curated by press to exit’s guest curator Fatos Ustek | The event took place in the Cultural Centre CK (Ilindenska Street, No. 38, Skopje) at 6 p.m. | The public event reinstates the main programs of press to exit project space in one cohesive framework. The aim is to examine the productions and the narrative which were carefully crafted over the last 5 years and the meaningful trace press to exit project space has left on the Macedonian and international artistic and curatorial production. | This event is part of the special program “DIVERSions – Independent Culture and the Swiss Cultural Programme in Macedonia”, with which the Swiss Cultural Programme celebrates 10 year work in Macedonia. more… |

LPE: 2 July, 2009 Presentation and discussion | Mission Less Probable with the Serbian artist and activist, Nebojsa Milikic | The public discussion titled The Mission of the Mission Less Probable will follow the presentation. Participants in the public discussion include: Branka Curcic and Zoran Pantelic (KUDA.org, Novi Sad), Ana Dzokic and Mark Neelen, (STEALTH, Belgrade/Rotterdam), Hristina Ivanoska and Yane Calovski (press to exit project space, Skopje), Aneta Spaseska (First Archi Brigade, Skopje) and Nebojsa Milikic (Cultural Centre REX, Belgrade) | The project Mission Less Probable during the last two years focused on public re-examination and informal discussions of recent “impossible” projects, works, initiatives and ideas initiated in the cultural and political field in Serbia, SEE region and Europe. After 13 realized discussions the project itself will be presented for public discussion and evaluation. more… |

A series of collaborative and research-based workshops with a final exhibition | If you don’t have God, you’d better have a multiverse | 1:1projects (Rome) in partnership with Kadist Art Foundation (Paris) and press to exit project space (Skopje) presents three itinerant workshops taking place in Rome (25-27 September), Skopje (30 October – 1 November) and Paris (27-29 November) in which a group of invited participants will open discussions on the issues of time, space and its perception. Each workshop is envisioned as a moment of encounter and includes presentations by the participants; a guest lecture or intervention by an invited artist, scholar or scientist; and an event open to the general public. LPE: 18 June, 2009 Presentation | Human Rights as a Tool for Social Change by Leora Kahn, American human rights activist and photo editor | organized by press to exit project space in collaboration with Macedonian Centre for Photography | The presentation will take place at the Macedonian Centre for Photography (Multimedia Centre “Mala Stanica”, Zeleznicka Street No. 18, Skopje), on Thursday, 18 June, 2009, at 8pm | As part of the presentation Leora Kahn will introduce recent projects such as the publication Child Soldiers edited by Khan and published by Power House Books from New York. Khan will talk about human rights as a tool for social change and the use of the medium of documentary photography in the process. more… |

The design of the publication was done by the young artist, Neda Firfova, with whom press to exit project space has established long and fruitful collaboration. | In the introduction text Yane Calovski, the artistic director of press to exit project space writes: “While Pocket Phrase Book by Biljana Stefanovska is by many standards a booklet, it challenges the robust idea of language and cultural heritage by making the active process of cultural and linguistic confluence in Republic of Macedonia visible.” more… |
